Year Round Activities

Yarrangobilly Caves. Located 6km off the Snowy Mountains Highway and 156km from Thredbo, there are guided and self-guided tours available as well as thermal springs for a hot dip.

Wild Brumby Distillery. Schnapps is the traditional drink in mountain areas. On the Alpine Way, the distillery's Cellar door is open 10-5pm daily. Enjoy free tastings, lunch, coffee, home-made cakes and the outdoor sculpture walk.

Snowy Hydro. Learn the story of the snowy mountains scheme from the early construction days to the role the scheme plays today. Visit the Murray 1 Visitor Centre or the Information and Education Centre just outside Cooma.

Helicopter Scenic Tours. Helifun operate interesting and informative scenic flights all year round, from short trips over Jindabyne to scenic mountain sunset flights.

Snowy Region Visitors Centre, Café & Cinema, Jindabyne. Gifts, souvenirs, maps, walking track guides and books are available. Staff can also provide you with your park entry passes and latest weather and road conditions. The building houses a Café and the Jindabyne Cinema. T: 02 6457 1777 for movie session times.

Thredbo Ski Museum displays an interesting collection of photos and ski memorabilia from the 1890’s to the present. Entry is free.

Gaden Trout Hatchery is one of Australia’s main centres for the breeding & rearing of cold water sport fish, they run informative tours daily. Visitors can also view feeding of the big fish.

Eucumbene Trout Farm. Located in Berridale and open 7 days in the ski season and Thursday to Sunday in summer, the trout farm conducts guided tours and for those who would like to try their luck, they guarantee you’ll catch a trout!

Snowy River Winery (Berridale) sells cold climate wines and also provides lunches, morning/afternoon tea and coffee.
