Summer

Walks for Everyone

Collect guide maps and walking maps at our brochure stand and learn about Thredbo’s environment, art, heritage and memorial. Thredbo’s fantastic hiking trails are all clearly outlined in the walking guide.

Resort Pass

Golf & Tennis, Bobsled, Leisure centre and Scenic chairlift are all included in the one pass for families or individuals. Alternately you can purchase tickets separately for just one or two resort activities.

Mountain Biking

Village Bike Trails

Cross country mountain bike tracks can be used by anyone with their own or a hire bike. Some tracks are multi purpose for use of both mountain bikers and walkers. A specific mountain bike map is available at SE MTB Co at Valley terminal in Thredbo.

The best way to learn fly fishing is to take a lesson with a professional. These can be booked through Thredbo sports on 02 6459 4119.

Horse Riding

Snowy Wilderness Homestead

Tom Groggin Station and the Murray River

You’ll find places to picnic, 4WD, Fish, plenty of Kangaroos and even the inclination to swim in the river!

Winter

Snow Sports

Snowboarding, skiing, cross-country and back country skiing is what Thredbo is all about in winter. Snow sports school bookings for all ages and ability can be made through Thredbo sports on 02 6459 4100. Group and private lessons are available.

The flare run lights up the Supertrail every Saturday night and one of the best vantage points to view it is from Boali’s very own balcony!

Mountain Hosts

The Thredbo mountain hosts know Thredbo extremely well and want to share the best ski spots with you. You can meet them at the top of the Gunbarrel Express chairlift daily. This free service is suited to snow riders of an intermediate level and above.

Night Riding

On Thursday nights Friday Flat is open for beginners and Saturday nights the Supertrail under lights is a magical experience.

Winter Walks

Not a skier? There are self guided village walks which can be done any time of year (choose from Heritage, Art, Environmental, Memorial and Eco). Other walks we would recommend in winter are the Riverside golf course walk, Bridle loop trail and pipeline path.

Year Round

Take a trip to Yarrangobilly Caves

Located 6km off the snowy mountains Highway, 156km from Thredbo, there are guided and self guided tours available as well as thermal springs for a hot dip.

Wild Brumby Distillery

Schnapps is the traditional drink in mountain areas and we are lucky enough to have a distillery on our doorstep in the Thredbo Valley on the Alpine way. The Cellar door is open 10-5pm daily and along with free tasting you can enjoy coffee, lunch, home-made cakes and the outdoor sculpture walk. Visit the Information and education centre located a couple of minutes from the centre of Cooma or the Murray 1visitor centre. You will learn the story of the snowy mountains scheme from the early construction days to the role the scheme plays today. www.snowyhydro.com.au

Helicopter Scenic Tours

Snowy Region Visitors Centre, Café & Cinema

Gifts, souvenirs, maps, walking track guides and books are available. Staff can also provide you with your park entry passes and latest weather and road conditions. There is also a café in the building and the Jindabyne cinema. Phone 02 6457 1777 for movie session times.

Thredbo Ski Museum

Displays an interesting collection of photos and ski memorabilia from the 1890’s to the present. Entry is free. www.thredboskimuseum.com

Gaden Trout Hatchery

The hatchery is one of Australia’s main centres for the breeding & rearing of cold water sport fish, they run informative tours daily. Visitors can also view feeding of the big fish. www.fisheries.nsw.gov.au

Eucumbene Trout Farm

Located in Berridale and open 7 days in the ski season and Thursday to Sunday in summer, the trout farm conducts guided tours and for those who would like to try their luck, they guarantee you’ll catch a trout! www.eucumbene.com
